Expanding Healthcare in South Carolina
The Economic Justice Action Team is currently focusing on expanding healthcare in SC.
The problem? There is a coverage gap between those who qualify for Medicaid and those who can afford to buy health insurance through the Affordable Care Act. Many South Carolinians (about 340,000 total) fall into this gap. Our Economic Justice Action Team works with Cover SC to seek solutions for providing healthcare to those in the coverage gap. We also monitor bills, positive and negative, that are proposed in the SC State Legislature.

Legislation to Watch
H3611 Medicaid Expansion Study: This bill, currently in Ways and Means, would study the health insurance coverage gap.
H4270 Sealing Eviction Records: This bill, currently in Judiciary, would seal eviction records.
